ALLIED HEALTH

SOCIAL WORK SERVICE

When school feels impossible, it’s not because your child won’t - it’s because something isn’t working yet.

Through ‘The School Reconnection Pathway’, I help families move from daily distress and school can’t - to a calmer, more possible path back to learning .

You’re in the right place if…

  • You’ve tried everything - and nothing is changing.

  • Mornings feel like a battle, or they’ve stopped altogether.

  • Your child is overwhelmed, anxious, or shutting down.

  • You’ve been told attendance matters - but no one is showing you how to make it possible.

You’re stuck between knowing your child needs support and not knowing what to do next…

When your Child Can’t go to School

A Different Way Forward

  • Most advice focuses on getting your child back to school.

  • But when a child is overwhelmed - pushing harder often makes things worse.

The ‘School Reconnection Pathway’ takes a different approach.

Instead of focusing on attendance first, we focus on:

  • what’s underneath the avoidance

  • reducing pressure

  • understanding your child’s experience

  • and changing the patterns that are keeping everyone stuck.

There is a Path Forward

Even if your child hasn’t attended for weeks, months, or longer -

progress is still possible.

  • Not through pressure.

  • Not through rewards or consequences.

  • But through a clear, step-by-step process that helps your child feel safer, more regulated, and more able to engage again.

  • The ‘School Reconnection Pathway’ gives you that process.

Hi, I’m Lisa,

I am a qualified School Social Worker and Primary School Teacher, and the developer of The School Reconnection Pathway. I support families raising neurodivergent & anxious children, particularly when school and the outside world feel overwhelming. My work focuses on helping parents co-regulate, care for themselves, build the right support networks, and find approaches that truly work for their child - so things begin to feel more manageable and more possible.
